Donald Trump has appointed former General Keith Kellogg as his special envoy for Ukraine and Russia. He has some pretty specific and decisive visions for the end of Russia's war against Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may be stalling for time and not agreeing to the terms of the negotiations. Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman expressed this opinion to Channel 24, noting that a special representative on issues of our country and the aggressor country is exactly the person that was sorely lacking.

The political strategist noted that the new US administration aims to end Russia's war against Ukraine. The appointment of a special representative on this issue is a good sign for our country.

Trump, as the future president, will have a lot of troubles, the head of the Pentagon Lloyd Austin also dealt with Ukraine, but he also deals with the war in Israel, Syria and the Houthis. Kellogg himself will be a kind of specialist in the field.

Legally, Ukraine's position, compared to Russia, is advantageous. We need to constantly repeat it, for this we need constant contact in the US administration, – Sheitelman emphasized.

As soon as Trump becomes president, first of all, he will deal with the economic issues of the United States and migrants. These were his election slogans aimed at the American electorate.

According to the political strategist, the future US president may say that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia should take place first, and then he may give weapons.

“He (Kellogg – Channel 24) will sit under Trump's office and probably say that Putin had three days, he did not give an answer during this time and therefore something needs to be done. Putin will definitely not agree to the conditions that Kellogg puts forward to him, and will drag out time“, – noted Sheitelman.

When Trump appointed Kellogg, he wrote that the US would act on the principle of peace through force. The special representative himself knows how to attract it. This is evidenced by his book written about the time of Trump's first term, where Kellogg supported the elimination of General Soleimani, the author of the Iranian concept of victory over Israel.

In addition, Kellogg has several pinned messages on the X network, one of which concerns Ukraine. In this message from February 26, 2024, there is a photo of Volodymyr Zelensky on Bankova Street, who did not agree to the American offer to leave Ukraine.

Kellogg demanded that Ukraine be supplied with military aid throughout the full-scale invasion. He believes that Ukraine will not be able to return all the territories by military means now, but no one will ever recognize them as Russian, the final settlement of the war is possible after Putin leaves, and sanctions against Russia cannot be lifted yet, only after the end of the conflict on conditions that our state will like, the political strategist explained.

By the way, at the same time, the media published the main points of the so-called “Kellogg plan” regarding the war. It includes pressure on Moscow and Kyiv for negotiations, postponing Ukraine's membership in NATO, preserving the territories occupied by Russia, lifting sanctions and military aid to Ukraine.
