“Peace plan” from China: how this idea will be perceived in the West

by alex

On the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Chinese leader Xi Jinping will come up with a “peace plan” proposal. This proposal, in all likelihood, will not meet the national interests of Ukraine, but China can support the majority of the world's population.

About thisChannel 24Oleksandr Kraev, an expert at the Ukrainian Prism Foreign Policy Council, said. According to him, after the Munich Security Conference, even the biggest Ukrainian skeptics began to change their positions.

What will be the idea of China

The exact China's proposals, but there are suggestions that China will offer the end of hostilities if the supply of weapons to Ukraine is stopped.

Alexander Kraev believes that in this case, China will do everything to ensure that Russia fulfills these agreements, because for it this will be the biggest diplomatic and political victory.

At the same time, the expert of the Ukrainian Prism foreign policy council doubts that the West will agree to such proposals because it cannot afford to give in to China in matters of ideological primacy.

“I doubt that the West will even consider the scenario of fully supporting the Chinese project. It is possible to say that there are healthy ideas there, to say that China is analyzing the situation normally, but I doubt supporting such a position,” Kraev said.

Will China take a very opposite position from the West

Alexander Kraev considers such a situation unlikely, and also noted that there will be no situation in which no one will support China's proposals.

“It will be quite calmly supported by the countries of Africa, who said that this conflict simply needs to be stopped, because there will be famine, and it doesn't matter who deals with their extraneous issues,” Kraev said.

He also added that such a proposal would be supported in Asia, because they consider the Russian narrative of “one people” quite realistic. Also, the idea may be supported in Latin America, because they will say that you can’t fight forever.

China will definitely not be left alone, and for him it will be another confirmation of his old narrative that the majority of the world's population does not support anti-Russian sanctions, but supports negotiations. Kraev said.

An expert from the Ukrainian Prism Foreign Policy Council said that indeed, if we take the population of China, India and several other countries of Asia, Africa and America, there will be a majority. And, unfortunately, China will continue to promote this thesis.
