by alex

French President Emmanuel Macron calls on French President Emmanuel Macron not to weaken support for Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression.

– To stand on the side of peace today means to give force to the law. Peace is not surrender. Peace is not a renunciation of principles, Macron said during a visit to Germany at a joint event with the country’s President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, writes Tagesschau.

Macron on peace

As Macron noted, peace is about giving a country the opportunity to protect its borders and sovereignty.

Steinmeier also stressed that aid to Ukraine should not be weakened.

Let us recall that Ukraine’s partners recently began a discussion about granting permission to our country to strike the territory of the Russian Federation with Western weapons. With such a proposal congressmen turned to the Pentagon.

This idea is shared by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and also Poland. In particular, the head of the country's Foreign Ministry, Radoslav Sikorski, spoke in favor of allowing Ukraine to attack the Russian Federation with American weapons.

However, not everyone shares this position. Thus, Olaf Scholz and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke out against it.
