Family members of the military who are captured or missing can receive payments. To do this, you need to provide documents and submit an application to the commander of the military unit.
The application will be considered within 15 days. The decision will be made public in writing, Channel 24 reports.
Payments can be received by relatives of the defenders of Ukraine who:
- are in captivity;
- are hostages ;
- internees in neutral states;
- disappeared.
The law provides that the military of these categories keep payments :

Please note! Payments are counted from the moment the military was captured or went missing. They stop from the moment when the defender is excluded from the lists of the personnel of the military unit.
Who has the right to help
Alla Beloshenko, a lawyer for the Legal Hundred NGO, said that the following military relatives are entitled to receive financial support:
- wives or husbands (if none, adult children who lived with the defender or defender);
- legal representatives (guardians, trustees);
- adoptive parents of minor children (with disabilities);< /li>
- people who are in the pay of the military or military;
- parents of a protector or defender (if there is no wife or husband).
According to the lawyer, the payments are divided among all those who have the right to receive them. Each one has an equal share. If someone decides to refuse the money, it will be distributed among other people receiving payments.
At the same time, the relatives of the military who:
- voluntarily surrendered to captured;
- arbitrarily left military units or places of service;
- resorted to desertion.
To receive payments, you must write an application and, together with a number documents to transfer it to the name of the commander of the military unit.
We are talking about the following documents:
- copies of passport pages of adult family members with data on the last name, first name and patronymic and registration of the place of residence (location);
- certificate of registration of the place of residence (location) of family members (in the absence of such information in the passport);
- copy of marriage certificate (if any);
- copy of birth certificates of children (if any);
- copy of document certifying registration in the State Register of Individuals – taxpayers.
