The Government of Ukraine has paid 1.1 billion US dollars to citizens who in March applied for compensation of 6.5 thousand hryvnias under the єSupport program.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmihal stated this after on a working visit to the United States, where he met with representatives of the International Monetary Fund.

Providing support to internally displaced people is a priority

The Prime Minister assured that today the whole world has united around Ukraine. Assistance is provided by the IMF, the World Bank and the United States, among others.

Support and payments of 6.5 thousand hryvnias to people who were internally displaced cost the state 1.1 billion US dollars. We need to continue these payments, continue this support, so we rely on the help of our partners,” Shmigal noted.

The Prime Minister recalled that Ukraine has already attracted 4.8 billion hryvnias for current economic support. This amount, he said, will be enough for April-May. In the future, the government will work to attract funding for the next four months.

We have received confirmation from our partners that they will not let us down, and we will have the necessary funding, to cover the budget deficit,” he stressed.

Among the government’s priorities in this context are support for internally displaced persons and people who remain near war zones, as well as demining.
