French midfielder Paul Pogba has agreed a two-year deal with Monaco and will undergo a medical at the club this week in what will effectively be his return to football after a doping ban.

The 32-year-old footballer's last club was Turin's Juventus, in whose shirt he played back in September 2023, after which it became known that he had tested positive for doping.

In February 2024, Paul Pogba was banned for four years after a banned substance was found in his system.

The Frenchman appealed the disqualification period, which was reduced to 18 months. The ban expired in March this year.

According to media reports, he received offers to continue his career from clubs in the MLS league and Saudi Arabia, but the midfielder decided to resume his career in Monaco.

What is known about Paul Pogba

French midfielder Paul Pogba is 32 years old. He is a product of the Le Havre academy, but has never played in the French championship before.

The footballer played twice for Manchester United in 2011-2012 and 2016-2022 and twice for Juventus in 2012-2016 and 2022-2024. Pogba's second return to the Red Devils set a new transfer record at the time – about €105 million.

With Juventus, he won the Serie A title four times, the FA Cup (twice) and the Super Cup (twice). With Manchester United, he won the English Football League Cup and the Europa League in 2017.

As part of the French national team, he became the 2018 World Champion. He won silver at Euro 2016 and won the UEFA Nations League with the team.
