“Partly there will be improvisation”: 400 thousand Ukrainian children will start studying in Polish schools

by alex

Just a week from now, the new school year starts in Poland. At least about 400,000 Ukrainian children will begin their education there.

About this on air on Channel 24said the Polish scientist, public figure Richard Kupidura. At the same time, he noted that the number of Ukrainian schoolchildren may turn out to be even higher – up to 500 thousand.

Richard Cupidura said that it is not yet clear how many children will remain in Poland for a longer time, and how many of them are , as temporary guests until the Ukrainian victory. Even the refugees themselves cannot clearly define themselves, which is quite understandable.

According to the public figure, this integration process should be flexible. This will be the biggest challenge for the Polish education system after the return of its independence.

This process will be partly systemic, and partly even improvised. This is a huge task for Polish teachers, who must be as flexible as possible. – said Richard Kupidura.

According to him, there are already benefits for working with Ukrainian children. That is, this vacation period was used to the maximum.

How the integration process is going on

Richard Cupidura noted that Ukrainians have integrated well. He recalled a case when he translated for a group of Ukrainian children. Many said: “There is no need to translate anything. We have been here for a couple of months in Poland and already speak Polish fluently.”

“This new Polish-Ukrainian bilingualism will finally become a feature of an educated and tolerant person. There will never be a chance Russian-Ukrainian bilingualism as a tool and tool for the imperialists to realize their dirty interests,” the public figure added.
