A painting by Ukrainian artist Maria Primachenko “Flowers grew near Unit 4” was sold at an auction for $500,000.
The Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation held an auction to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As a result, participant No. 35 won the auction – he offered 500 thousand dollars for the painting by Maria Primachenko, when the starting price was 5 thousand dollars. These funds will be used to help the armed forces of Ukraine.

Maria Primachenko created the painting “Flowers grew near the fourth power unit” in 1990.
Due to Russian troops in the Kyiv region, the local history museum burned down, where paintings by a talented artist were kept. However, some of the works were saved by local residents.
The painting “Flowers grew at the fourth block” refers to a series of works that the artist dedicated to the Chernobyl tragedy. It belonged to the family collection of collector Igor Ponamarchuk and art historian Daria Dobriyan. The woman noted that their family would never have sold this work if not for the war.
The auction was also supported by the Primachenko family, who refused royalties on the sale of the painting in favor of the Ukrainian army.
