Russia continues to block Ukrainian ports, which is why Ukraine exports through Romanian territory. In just one month, the transit of grain through the port of Constanta has quadrupled.

Ukraine wants to double its exports

Relevant information was announced at a briefing in Kyiv by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, Channel 24 reports. He noted that until recently the transit of Ukrainian products through Romania was not very large.

Now, according to him, the goods passing through the Romanian border were large. The President of Romania announced that the transit of grain in the port of Constanta has quadrupled over the past month.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the data of his Romanian counterpart during a briefing.

We have increased the transit of Ukrainian grain and food along the Danube route, Zelensky stated.

At the same time, the President of Ukraine said that at a meeting with the Romanian President and the leaders of France, Germany and Italy, they discussed how to double exports.

Ukraine is looking for alternative ways to export products

  • Russia is purposefully blocking Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea. The aggressor country placed its ships in the sea and mined the Black Sea. Therefore, Ukraine cannot export grain by sea.
  • The Ukrainian government is looking for alternative ways to export grain. Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitry Senik said that Ukraine has developed two routes for the export of grain.
  • Ukraine can export through the territories of Romania and Poland. Senik also said that Ukraine is negotiating with the Baltic countries on the creation of a third corridor for food exports.
  • Note that Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that there are no problems with the export of grain from Ukraine. The Russian dictator cynically suggested exporting grain through Belarus, from which the Russians are bombing Ukrainian towns and villages.
  • President Zelensky has reported that Ukraine is negotiating with Britain and Turkey to secure the export of grain. France is also ready to take part in the operation to unblock the port of Odessa.
