Unfortunately, the Russians have been traditionally launching rocket attacks on the Odessa region lately. The last day, May 8, is no exception.
Sergey Bratchuk, speaker of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, told Channel 24 about this. He stressed that these days Odessa is in a special risk zone and Russian attacks may occur more often.
The same applies to other regions of Ukraine. It was predicted that perhaps these strikes would be delivered from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula or from the Black Sea. Also, the enemy is already attracting strategic aviation.

“An air raid signal sounded in Odessa last night. Our air defense forces did a good job. And already in the morning they arrived 4 missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea to the Odessa region,” Bratchuk emphasized.
He noted that at the moment all other information, where it arrived, is still being clarified. However, he was able to tell that in the morning our defenders also worked well and shot down several missiles.

- In the Odessa region on the day, May 8, there were several rocket attacks. The Russians mainly involved aviation in this.
- So, as of the evening of that day, the Russian invaders fired 9 missiles at the Odessa region.
- Ukrainian defenders did a good job – they managed to destroy 6 of them by force air defense.
- However, enemy missiles hit the region, in particular in the Artsyz community. The Russians damaged an electrical substation and a gas pipeline, destroyed several private houses and damaged recreation areas in the city of Odessa. After that, electricity and water supply disappeared in the city. Also, after the explosion, one of the mobile operators stopped working.
- In addition, as a result of the enemy attack on May 7, 252 apartments were damaged. Many have had their windows smashed out, so public utilities are covering window openings with film and have already spent 1,800 square meters of film.
