The occupier was identified who ordered the killing of Ukrainians in the Kharkiv region/collage of channel 24 peaceful people in the Kharkiv region. Prosecutors and investigators managed to identify one of the commanders who gave criminal orders.
This was reported by Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova. She noted that they are talking about Sergei Maksimov.
The occupant is the commander of the 138th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 6th combined arms army of the Western Military District of the Russian Armed Forces.
“Ironically, the colonel was born in Uzhgorod in Transcarpathia. He arrived in the Kharkiv region to kill Ukrainians. Artillery and missile battalions with weapons were under his command,” Venediktova said.
Knew there were no military targets
According to the Prosecutor General, the aggressor is currently suspected of violating the laws of war, combined with premeditated murder. On March 26, Commander Maksimov ordered his soldiers to use TOS-1 Pinocchio flamethrower fire to hit people's houses in the villages of Malaya Rogan and Olkhovka. This was established by the prosecutors of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office and investigators of the SBU.
Venediktova stressed that the invaders knew for sure that there were no military facilities on the territory of these settlements. They deliberately fired incendiary shells at residential areas.
They killed a child
The Russians damaged a number of residential buildings, the Malorogan Lyceum and a dairy plant. A 13-year-old girl received mine-explosive injuries. The child died from them in the hospital a few days later.
Venediktova asks everyone who knows Maksimov and has additional information about him to contact the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office. She said that due to the difficult situation in the region, the hotlines of the regional prosecutor's office do not work. Information is requested to be reported through the only evidentiary hub on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
