Azov Regiment Commander Lieutenant Colonel Denis Prokopenko addressed world leaders on April 18. He called for the organization of humanitarian corridors from Mariupol.
Now hundreds of civilians are hiding in shelters at Azovstal, including many children and even babies. However, the Russians are doing everything to wipe the plant off the face of the earth.

Prokopenko said that people of all ages and families of the Ukrainian defenders of Mariupol are now in the shelter. All these people are forced to hide in basements and bunkers from the “Russian world”. Everyone has already seen what the occupiers are doing, so they cannot be trusted.
They found their only available shelter along with Ukrainian soldiers who still defend the city from Russian invaders. the commander said.

The commander added that the Russians and their henchmen from the Donbass quasi-republics do not stop inflicting heavy blows. They attack the Azovstal territory with free-fall bombs, rockets and bunker bombs.
Besides, the constant use of all types of artillery continues, both ground and naval. These attacks are indiscriminate, and therefore aimed at bringing death to everyone without exception. Therefore, people with children can almost never leave underground shelters.
