The Security Service of Ukraine managed to identify another Russian occupier involved in the massacres of the civilian population during the occupation of part of the Kiev region. We are talking about the commander of the Russian reconnaissance group, who ordered the execution of a Ukrainian family during the capture of Bucha.

According to the SBU, Senior Lieutenant Vadim Ovchinnikov, commander of the reconnaissance platoon of the reconnaissance company of the 37th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 36th combined arms army of the eastern military district of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, was involved in the crime.

The SBU established that this particular unit was directly involved in the capture settlements of Severinovka, Motyzhin and Kopylov, Buchansky district. During the occupation, the Russian commander, together with his subordinates, drove around the region in armored vehicles and intimidated the inhabitants.

During one of the raids in early March last year, Ovchinnikov ordered to open fire on two cars with people who were moving towards an enemy infantry fighting vehicle. There was a Ukrainian family in the passenger compartment of the car, which was trying to leave Severinovka for Uman.

As a result of the shelling, the husband, his wife, and their 15-year-old daughter were killed on the spot. Only the youngest nine-year-old daughter managed to stay alive. The SBU found out that this order was carried out by five Russian soldiers:

  • junior sergeant Mikhail Zharky;
  • corporal Aldar Garmatarov;
  • corporal Sergey Zvarichevsky;< /li>
  • Corporal Artem Belikov;
  • Private Ivan Nagumanov.

The Security Service of Ukraine added that the crimes of the occupiers were confirmed by a Russian family was in the same area as Ovchinnikov's unit.

SBU investigators informed all six war criminals of the suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons (under Part 2 of Art. 28, part 1, 2, article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
