The head of the Hungarian government, Viktor Orban, wants the 45th US President Donald Trump to take part in the informal summit of the European Union. The event will take place in Budapest on November 7 – 8.

This is written about in VSquare.

Orban wants to convince Trump to come to the EU summit

The publication, citing numerous sources in the Hungarian government, says that Orban expects Trump to attend the summit of the European Political Community, which will also take place on November 7 – 8.

An unnamed diplomat from one of the EU countries told reporters that Orban could have conveyed the corresponding invitation to Trump during their meetings in Florida. It took place this year in March.

VSquare suggests that Trump’s physical presence at the summit is practically impossible for two reasons. One fact is that on November 5th the US will hold a presidential election in which he is participating. Another point that was noted in the publication is that the Republican does not like long trips.

However, it is assumed that Trump will probably send a short video message or speak online.

At the same time, on November 7 – 8, the results of the US presidential election will most likely be known, so Trump will either be the loser, the candidate, or the elected president.

But current US President Joe Biden will, in any case, hold this position at least until January 2025. Therefore, even Trump’s virtual participation in the EU summit was “unprecedented and extremely destructive and would challenge established diplomatic norms,” the publication clarifies. It would also create tension both within the EU and within the Biden administration.
