Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that he considers it a mistake to open negotiations on Ukraine’s full membership in the European Union. In his opinion, the Ukrainian state is allegedly not ready yet.

According to the Hungarian publication Magyar Hirlap, during his speech at the Fidesz party congress, Orban drew attention to his vision of the EU, where serious political battles could allegedly take place in the coming months.

In particular, he mentioned the discussion of changes to the budget and the EU's promise to begin negotiations on Ukraine's accession. According to him, it is supposedly necessary to resist “Ukraine’s unprepared membership in the EU.”
