Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova said that Mikhail Kulikov, the gunner who directed the shots of Russian occupation tanks at residential buildings in Chernihiv, would appear before Ukrainian justice.

The prosecutors of the Chernihiv regional prosecutor's office filed an indictment against the operator-gunner of the military unit of the 31st separate guards motorized rifle brigade as part of the 41st combined arms army of the Russian armed forces. The man is accused of violating the laws and customs of war.
According to Venediktova, prosecutors and investigators were able to collect enough evidence that the occupier committed a war crime.
On February 26, the gunner, following the illegal order of the battalion commander, turned the turret of the T-72B tank towards a residential building on the outskirts of Chernigov and fired at it with a high-explosive fragmentation projectile of 125 mm caliber. The high-rise building was not a military target and was not used for military purposes,” said Venediktova.
The Russian criminal was detained thanks to the coordinated actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Now Mikhail Kulikov is in a pre-trial detention center. Subsequently, a trial of the Russian occupier will take place.
