Opening the door for themselves: what do the loud statements of the Iranian leader mean? Anzhelika Galesevich

Newly elected Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said he was ready to sit down at the negotiating table with Europeans and Americans amid accusations of missile supplies to Russia.

He suddenly called the Russian-Ukrainian war aggression, not a conflict or crisis. Political strategist Boris Tiesenhausen speculated on Channel 24 about the meaning of the Iranian leader's loud statements.

What illusion can Iran create

Tiesenhausen noted that Russia has indeed received about 200 Iranian ballistic missiles. They were transported via the Caspian Sea. The occupiers will be able to use them at close range, and save the Iskanders for long-range strikes against Ukraine.

If Iran supplied ballistic missiles to Russia, it did not supply launchers. In this way, Tehran opens the door to negotiations, like, “offer us something.”

On the eve of unpleasant events for Russia, that is, the lifting of restrictions, Iran decided to play in different baskets. But this does not work with dictatorial and autocratic regimes, – noted Boris Tiesenhausen.

That is, Tehran can create the illusion of negotiations, and then suddenly transfer, say, another 300 ballistic missiles. Then it turns out that the Russians can change the names of the weapons: not “Shahed”, but “Geran-2”; not Fath-360, but “Carnation-4”.

“That is, only tough sanctions and restrictions, as well as powerful blows, work against the “club” of disgusting dictators, male and female, the political strategist summed up.

Pay attention! Political expert Andrei Gorodnitsky called such statements by Iran a lie. He noted that the country is trying to play at democracy, but in fact supports Russia, and if there are no specific actions to get closer to the West, then these are just empty words.
