Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Alexander Bevz said that Ukraine is checking the information that Iraq and Jordan withdrew their signatures from the communiqué at the Peace Summit. It is being verified because these countries were displayed as signatories of the document during the international conference.

He noted that the Ukrainian side will contact Switzerland today in order to clarify the list of signatories.

— Today we will contact our colleagues from Bern and once again discuss the entire list of countries that have joined. I was personally present during the announcement of the results of joining the communiqué, and these countries were indicated on the final scoreboard in the hall where the plenary session was held. Therefore, we do not rush to any conclusions regarding which countries have seceded or joined. The Communiqué remains open for any country to join, and we expect that the number of its participants will only grow, — said the adviser to the head of the OP.

According to Bevz, among the countries — There were also participants in the Global Peace Summit who immediately informed Ukraine and Switzerland, as the organizer of the Summit, that they were not ready to join any document, regardless of the content.

— This is probably due to the specifics of certain political processes within these countries. Some countries were directly subjected to pressure, and the president spoke about this more than once, both regarding participation in the summit and regarding joining some final document. I am confident that some countries that were present and did not join the communiqué will join later. Even those who were not there will be able to join. Of course, it would be important for us that the G20 countries that have not joined the communiqué today are involved in the peace process. And the fact that they did not join the communiqué today does not mean that they will not be members, participants in the peace process in the future, — Bevz added.

Results of the Peace Summit

Following the results of the Peace Summit, the final document was signed by 80 countries and four organizations (Council of Europe, European Commission, European Council and European Parliament).

Later it became known that the number of countries that signed the communique following the Global Peace Summit was reduced from 80 to 78.

Armenia, Bahrain, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Libya, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand, United Arab Emirates did not support the Peace Summit communique.
