Advisor to the head of the Presidential Office Mykhailo Podolyak denies Ukraine's involvement in the explosion of the Nord Streams.

In a commentary to Reuters, he noted that such an operation can only be carried out with large technical and financial resources.

– And who owned all this at the time of the explosion? Only Russia, – he said Podolyak.

The head of the OP also added that Ukraine did not receive any strategic or tactical advantage from blowing up the gas pipelines.

Earlier, the newspaper The Wall Street Journal published an investigation claiming that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky verbally approved the plan to blow up the Nord Streams in 2022 and instructed the then Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny to implement it.

Explosions on the Nord Streams

On the night of September 26, 2022, three of the four gas pipelines Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 were destroyed by explosions on the bottom of the Baltic Sea in neutral waters. Both pipelines were currently not operating, but were filled with industrial gas.

In February 2024, Danish law enforcement closed the investigation into the explosions on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines due to a lack of grounds for initiating a criminal case. Sweden made a similar decision.

On January 14, the Tagesschau newspaper reported that the German Prosecutor General's Office had received an arrest warrant for a Ukrainian citizen suspected of blowing up the Nord Streams.
