In Belarus, support for the participation of the country's army in the war unleashed by Russia is decreasing every month. The inhabitants of the state are convinced that their military should not take the side of the aggressor country.
The results of a sociological survey testify to the mood of the local population. Yes, only 5% of Belarusians support the ability of the country's army to fight on the side of Russia.
The level of support continues to fall
Compared to April 2022, then this figure continues, at least slowly, but falling. At the same time, 6% of respondents expressed the corresponding opinion.
The attitude of Belarusians towards Russia's war in Ukraine remains negative. We see that support for Russia is gradually melting,” said Grigory Astapenya, director of the Belarusian Initiative at Chatham house.
He added that the number of those who are convinced of the need to support Russia’s criminal actions has also decreased . If in March it was said about 28% of respondents, then in June this number dropped to 23%.
The data of this survey also indicate that criminal actions of the Russian army do not support 43% of respondents.
strong>Note that there are much more opponents of the actions of the army of the aggressor country in the country. Yes, 35% of respondents are against what Russia is doing in Ukraine. On the other hand, 14% support war crimes.
Half of Belarusians are experiencing the consequences
Belarus is well aware that Russia's war against Ukraine will have negative consequences for the country. If in June 53% of respondents agreed with the relevant statement, in June this figure rose to 55%. As for the influence on the Belarusians themselves, it is said about 49% and 52% respectively.
Note that the sociological survey was conducted from June 6 to 17, 2022. To collect data, we used Internet interviews with 804 respondents.
It should be noted that mothers in Belarus launched an action against the war in Ukraine. They strive to do everything possible to ensure that their sons are not sent to certain death because of the imperial ambitions of Vladimir Putin.
To speak out against criminal orders, women leave soft toys of their children in the open air. Each of them is accompanied by signatures indicating the unwillingness to send their sons to the war unleashed by Russia.
We note right away that this is a rather bold act. Recall that Belarusians do not stand on ceremony with those who express disagreement with Lukashenka.
Meanwhile, military exercises in Belarus continued. This was reported to the Belarusian media on July 7.
The risk of an offensive from Belarus remains
The exercises themselves will now last until July 16 . But it should be understood that they can be extended at any time. This has already happened several times. And they are produced immediately at several training grounds in the country.
Let us recall that recently more and more experts predict a possible offensive from the Belarusians . But this time, it is not about the Russian military, but about the army, led by Alexander Lukashenko.

- At the same time, it should be understood that the threat from Belarus remains. The General Staff noted that the enemy would continue to shell our state from there.
- It is interesting that the intelligence of Ukraine did not reveal the preparation of Belarusian groups for an offensive. But this does not mean at all that at some point the military of this country will not take the side of Russia and attack us.
