J.D. Vance is the Republican candidate for Vice President of the United States. He is even more radical than Trump on some issues. And this is beneficial to the latter.

Political scientist and head of the Center for Analysis and Strategies Igor Chalenko told Channel about this, noting that Vance's main role now is to “cement” the core of Trump's supporters.

Why Trump chose Vance

As Chalenko noted, J.D. Vance is now pushing away Trump's opponents' argument that he is too old to be a candidate for US President. Vance also speaks even more radically than Trump. And this affects the latter's image.

In some moments, Vance behaves even more radically than Trump himself. Accordingly, Trump looks more balanced against his background. This changes a certain role of Trump. It is beneficial for him in terms of maintaining the trust that he currently has, – Chalenko noted.

Of course, there was already information that some Republicans consider Vance “the worst choice” for the post of vice president. However, this is strongly “dispersed” by the media, which is favorable to the Democrats. The latter is now appropriate to do everything to weaken the position of Trump and his team.

It is unlikely that Vance will refuse to take such a position before the US presidential election.

He has official approval from the Republican convention. The only possible option is Vance's refusal. Obviously, everything can change. But I think this is unlikely, – Chalenko noted.
