Detention of a bribe-taking tax official in Kyiv
SBU employees documented how the tax officer received bribes from the director of a Kyiv company engaged in the wholesale trade of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels.
The official promised the businessman a license to sell fuel in exchange for a so-called reward.

According to the investigation, the official was in contact with the head of the company through an acquaintance.
At first, law enforcement officers recorded the receipt by the tax officer of the first part of the bribe and detained her along with the intermediary during the transfer of the second part.
The SBU does not disclose the amount of the bribe.

What punishment faces those detained
Both detainees were declared suspected under Part 3 of Art. 368 Criminal Code (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of unlawful benefit by an official).
According to this article, they face up to 10 years with confiscation of property.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure is currently being decided.
Investigative actions are also being carried out to identify and bring to justice all those responsible.
