On December 27, Romanian rescuers discovered the body of one of four Ukrainians who got lost in the Carpathians. On Christmas Eve, the men went to the mountains and crossed the state border.

The body of a Ukrainian lost in the mountains was found by a local resident of the village of Vyshivska Krasnaya.

Last-minute information received by colleagues from the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and the Territorial Inspectorate of the Sigita Border Police. One of the two Ukrainians who could not be contacted was found dead by a local resident, Benga said.

Border police and mountain rescuers on December 27 resumed searching for Ukrainians who could not be lowered from the mountain due to difficult weather conditions.

They were on a steep peak at an altitude of more than 1800 meters. The tourists were poorly dressed and equipped. In the afternoon, searches by helicopter were stopped due to poor visibility.

Ukrainians were wounded. One of the men had multiple fractures, traumatic brain injury and bleeding. The last time he was contacted by phone was on the evening of December 26.

Speaker of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko during a briefing said that the disappearance of the men of the GNSU became known from other persons following them. They were discovered in the mountains by Romanian border guards. According to him, the search for the missing with the involvement of aviation continues.

Pay attention! Six citizens of Ukraine crossed the state border to Romania in the afternoon of December 24 in mountains. Two of them were found on the same evening, and two more on December 26.
