On the border with Poland, the Ugrinov-Dolgobiczow checkpoint opened for empty trucks

The Ugrinov-Dolgobiczow checkpoint on the border with Poland was opened for the movement of empty trucks leaving Ukraine on the night of December 4.

The passage of empty trucks began at 01:00 Kyiv time, the State Border Service confirmed.

“As of 07:00 on the morning of Monday, December 4, at the Ugrinov checkpoint, border guards cleared 30 heavy vehicles with a total permissible weight of more than 7.5 tons to leave Ukraine,” the State Border Guard Service clarified.

The entry of freight transport into the territory of the checkpoint is carried out in a general queue.

Speaker of the State Border Service Andrei Demchenko, speaking on the Ediny Novyny telethon, noted that as of the morning, about 60 trucks were waiting to cross the border.

On December 1, the Ministry of Reconstruction of Ukraine and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland agreed to open the Ugrinov-Dolgobiczow checkpoint for the passage of empty trucks.

This is the first measure that has been implemented to unblock the border, reduce queues and increase the capacity of the Ukrainian-Polish border.
