Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Head of State Vladimir Zelensky on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion. In addition, he spoke with Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin.
During the conversation, Zelensky and Erdogan expressed interest in continuing the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

Zelensky said that during the conversation he thanked Erdogan for his support on this symbolic day for Ukraine.
We appreciate the help of the Turkish people, which we have experienced all this time. And also the fact that Turkey supported the UN resolution on sustainable peace in Ukraine and the formula for peace,” the president said.
According to the Office of the President, Erdogan thanked for the assistance provided by Ukraine in overcoming the consequences of devastating earthquakes. Zelensky once again expressed his condolences to the president and the entire Turkish people in connection with the tragedy.
“The people of Ukraine stand side by side with the Turkish in this trouble. We are ready to continue to provide all possible assistance to Turkey and its people,” – stressed the head of state.
Erdogan talked with Putin
According to AA, Erdogan called Putin on the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. They discussed the earthquakes in Turkey and the developments around the Russian-Ukrainian war
According to a statement made by the Turkish Presidential Communications Department, Erdogan thanked the Kremlin dictator for the solidarity he showed in connection with the earthquake.
The Turkish leader said that a just peace must be established without further casualties and destruction in the Russian-Ukrainian war. He expressed his sincere wish that the agreements reached in Istanbul be renewed. Like, Turkey is ready to make any contribution to this.
According to the Russian media, Putin and Erdogan also discussed the practical aspects of the subsequent supply of Russian energy resources and the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant. In the context of the war in Ukraine, the presidents of Russia and Turkey paid attention to:
- the implementation of the Istanbul agreements,
- the export of Russian agricultural products,
- the need to remove obstacles to the supply of agricultural products and fertilizers from Russia to countries that need it.
In addition, they “agreed to continue personal contacts.”
Pay attention! President Ukraine said that even before the invasion, he asked Erdogan and other leaders to put Vladimir Putin at the negotiating table. According to the head of state, the Turkish president and other world leaders were unable to do this then.
