On Independence Day, Russia and Belarus “congratulated” the Ukrainians with increased shelling and strikes. Due to the growth of military activity in all regions and in Kyiv, the alarm was announced 189 times.

This was the “record” of this war. Until that day, the most alarming was April 23, when air raids were announced 103 times in the regions and Kyiv.

Where alarms were announced most often

During the day, the most airborne alarms were announced in the Kharkiv region – there the sirens went off 13 times. In the Kirovohrad and Poltava regions, an air alert was announced 12 times.

11 alarms were recorded in the Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions. Sirens sounded 9 times in Cherkasy, Mykolaiv and Donetsk regions.

In Chernihiv and Odessa regions, the alarm was announced 8 times, in Kyiv, Kyiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr, Kherson and Vinnitsa regions, sirens sounded 7 times. In the West, alarms were announced 6 times.

The longest airborne alarm was recorded on the night of August 24 in the Zaporozhye region, which lasted more than 4 hours. There is already fixed and the shortest alarm – 4 minutes. Zaporozhye region, if not taking into account the Luhansk region, where the alarm is continuous, the leader in the total duration of alarms is 14 hours 4 minutes.

In the West of the country, where sirens were heard 6 times, the alarms lasted at least 3 hours in total.< /p>

Which cities were attacked by the enemy on Independence Day

During the day on August 24, the Russian invaders attacked and fired at a number of settlements in different regions of Ukraine, in particular:

  • Mirgorod, Poltava region ;
  • Kharkiv, Maly Danilovtsy, Dergachi, Kharkiv region;
  • Nikopol, Sinelnikovsky, Krivorozhsky, Dneprovsky districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region;
  • Shepetovsky district of the Khmelnytsky region;
  • Nikolaev, Bashtan, Bereznegovat, Novobugskaya communities of Mykolaiv region;
  • Zaporozhye, Zaporozhye region;
  • Esmanskaya, Znob-Novgorod, Belopolskaya communities of Sumy region;
  • Chernihiv district of the Chernihiv region;
  • settlements on the line of demarcation of the Donetsk region.

One of the most tragic was the attacks on the Dnepropetrovsk region. The invaders hit passenger cars at the Chaplino station in the Sinelnikovsky district of the region. As of the evening of August 24, 22 dead and 50 wounded are known.
