The Slovak National Olympic Committee later reported that Potocka had an asthma attack. A Slovak team official told reporters that she did not have her inhaler with her.
— Tamara — has asthma. The combination of nervous and physical stress, and not having her inhaler on hand, led to the problem. She received oxygen and the necessary medication. Her condition is being constantly monitored, — Slovak team manager Ivana Lange said in a statement.
Team doctor Daniela Doležalova said Tamara had started the competition too quickly and had breathing problems after the finish. Her condition improved after oxygen therapy and medication.
The Slovak NOC said the 21-year-old had been discharged from hospital and would continue to recover in her room in the Olympic Village.
