Oleg Krot from the Techia Foundation donated 1,000 water filters to the front: how they will help the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Ukrainian defenders received 1000 water filters from Oleg Krot from the Techia Foundation. Another 400 were handed over to the liberated regions. The purchase price was 900 thousand hryvnia.

1,000 high-quality filters made by the American company Sawyer were divided between units of several brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the MTR. With their help, the military will be able to take water from natural reservoirs, melting snow or rain and turn it into drinking water.

How high-quality water filters work

The filter traps particles as small as 0.1 microns and, according to the manufacturer, can filter more than 300,000 liters of water thanks to the backwash system. At the same time, it weighs only 57 grams, so the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will always be able to carry it with them and use it if necessary. In addition, the significant capabilities of these filters will cover the needs of an entire department.

“Drinking water is one of the biggest humanitarian needs on the front lines, as it is rarely possible to carry liquid supplies with you. Especially for scouts who can work behind enemy lines. These compact filters will help you get drinking water anywhere, quench your thirst and minimize health risks. They have proven themselves in conditions of extreme tourism and after natural disasters, so they should become useful in war conditions,” explains Oleg Krot, managing partner of the holding. TECHIIA and the director of the Techia Foundation.

In addition to the military, another 400 Sawyer filtration systems from the Techia Foundation were received by residents of de-occupied regions where water utilities were destroyed or significantly damaged. Thus, the locals will be able to purify water on their own until the utility systems start working.
