Oleg Kiper, the head of the Kyiv prosecutor's office, may become the new prosecutor general/Kyiv city prosecutor's office
Oleg Kiper, the prosecutor of Kyiv and a former freelance adviser to the head of the President's Office, is also being considered for the position of Prosecutor General.
Sources in the president's team told journalists that Kiper was being considered for the position of Prosecutor General.
What is known about Oleg Kiper
In general, Oleg Kiper began working in the prosecutor's office in 2001. He served as an investigator of the Kotov interdistrict prosecutor's office of the Odessa region, the prosecutor of the prosecutor's office of the Odessa region, the prosecutor of the department of the Prosecutor General's Office, the head of the department of the prosecutor's office of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the deputy prosecutor of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the head of the department of the Prosecutor General's Office.
June 9, 2020 1999, Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova appointed Kiper to the position of Deputy Prosecutor of Kyiv.
During the time of Yanukovych, Kiper was deputy head of the Main Investigation Department of the GPU, where he was appointed by the then Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka.
On October 24, 2014, Kiper was lustred – he was included in the list of persons who are prohibited from working in public authorities until 2024. But in September 2019, the District Administrative Court of Kyiv returned the position of senior prosecutor of the Main Supervision Department to him, calling his lustration groundless. The court did not establish the involvement of Kiper in the usurpation of power by Viktor Yanukovych.
Keeper has a close relationship with Yermak
Before being appointed to the position of prosecutor of Kyiv, Kiper was a freelance adviser to the head of the OPU Andriy Yermak.
Simonenko is close to Tatarov first of all. But Kiper is directly on good terms with Andrei Borisovich (Yermak – ed.). Plus, unlike Symonenko, it will be easier to find votes in parliament for Kiper,” the source said.
The media also reported that the spouses Oleg Kiper and Sergey Kiz (former Deputy Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko) have a joint business , and Kiz drives a Kiper car (BMW X5 2010).
- Recall, on July 19, President Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree on the dismissal of Irina Venediktova from the post of Prosecutor General. Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada voted for the dismissal of Venediktova.
