Russian invaders are firing missiles at our country, which caused damage to the oil refining infrastructure. Not a single oil refinery in Ukraine is working due to attacks.

This was announced at a briefing by the chairman of the board of Naftogaz, Yuriy Vitrenko. Russian missile strikes created certain difficulties for logistics.

The oil refining industry has stopped

Yuriy Vitrenko explained that the shortage of fuel in the Ukrainian market arose due to the fact that the oil refining industry has stopped. Massive missile strikes are the reason for this.

All oil refining in Ukraine is now out of operation due to the massive attacks of the aggressor, and it is difficult to ensure the logistics of petroleum products to the Ukrainian market, which is why there is a shortage of them, Vitrenko said.

The head of Naftogaz explained that the company can join in solving the problem of fuel shortage in the Ukrainian market, however, certain conditions are necessary for this. Vitrenko notes that, first of all, it is necessary to solve the problems associated with logistics. This will create a reserve of petroleum products.

In addition, “Neftegaz” should also take over the management of a network of filling stations. It is under these two conditions, according to Vitrenko, that the company can join in solving the shortage problem and ensure stability in the market.

Fuel shortage can be overcome before autumn

Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov explained that in order to overcome the fuel crisis, our state needs to conclude as many long-term supply contracts as possible.

According to him, already now 230 fuel trucks arrive in Ukraine every day. Therefore, the minister urges citizens to be patient – the shortage problem will be resolved before the fall.

At the same time, NSDC Secretary Alexei Danilov noted that the return of pre-war fuel prices should not be expected. There are several reasons for this. The first is that the war was a serious blow to the country's economy, so it needs time to recover. Another reason is that fuel prices in Europe are higher than they were in Ukraine before the full-scale invasion. At the same time, the Ukrainian market is now focusing on Europe and plans to supply fuel from there.
