The clergy of Ukraine asks to condemn Kirill for spreading the “Russian world”. This was announced by the rector of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Epiphanius on May 26.
The Council of Bishops of the OCU appealed to the Ecumenical Patriarch and the Rectors of the Local Churches with a request to condemn the spiritual crimes of Kirill Gundyaev.
The Orthodox Church of Ukraine asks to deprive Kirill of the throne through “the spread of heretical ethnophyletic teachings about the “Russian world” and the spread of schisms among the Orthodox” .
Kirill Gundyaev, as a co-creator and propagandist of the ideology of the “Russian world”, should be condemned if he does not renounce this heresy and reveal the fruits of punishment, Epiphanius believes.
Patriarch Kirill's position during the war
- After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Patriarch Kirill blessed the occupiers to go to war. He fully supports the aggressive actions of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine.
- Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova showed a postcard from the Russian Orthodox Church, where the Russian received a blessing for the destruction of Ukrainians. It said that it was necessary to “wipe the Ukrainian nation off the face of the earth.” Similar “blessings” were issued in the Bryansk diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
