The invaders want to occupy Lisichansk/Collage of Channel 24
Russian invaders continue to move into Lysychansk and try to reach the borders of the Lugansk region. The Institute for the Study of War believes that the invaders may try to repeat the situation in Mariupol there. However, encircling Lisichansk will be much more difficult.
This was reported to Channel 24 by the military-political observer of the Informational group Alexander Kovalenko. In his opinion, the Institute for the Study of War mistakenly believes that Lisichansk can be captured, like Mariupol.
The Russians failed to capture Severodonetsk
According to Kovalenko, if you carefully observe the events since May, you can see that the occupants are not completely Severodonetsk control yet, there are still fights.
He stressed that in more than three weeks, the Russian invaders, having a total advantage in personnel and equipment, could not occupy this city, which is not even comparable in volume to Mariupol.
“To Lisichansk the occupiers have not even approached yet. If the occupiers have been blocked in Severodonetsk all this time, then what will happen in Lisichansk? The same situation,” the expert says.
Kovalenko emphasized that Severodonetsk cannot be compared with Mariupol, there was a completely different critical situation with blocking and resources.
I believe that the defense actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this location (in Severodonetsk) are more effective. This is not a defeat, on the contrary – we have been blockading the largest group of Russian occupying forces for more than 3 weeks quite successfully, he said. Lysichansk
Besides, as the expert noted, it will be even more difficult for invaders to occupy Lisichansk.
There are both geographical and defensive preconditions, because the line of defense in Lisichansk has been preparing all this time in order to block the offensive of the invaders. Therefore, it will not be as easy for them as someone imagines,” Kovalenko added.
What is the situation in Lisichansk and Severodonetsk
- The head of the Lugansk OVA, Sergei Gaidai, said that Russian invaders wipe Lisichansk off the face of the earth every day. The city in the Luhansk region is being hit by the enemy with all possible weapons – bombs, rockets, and multiple launch rocket systems.
- At the same time, our military manages to hold back the enemy's advance near Lisichansk. The enemy can neither enter the city nor cut it off. Therefore, he simply destroys it.
- At the same time, decisive battles are underway in the Severodonetsk region. As Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar noted, the Russian invaders have a new offensive plan. According to him, the invaders must reach the borders of the Luhansk region by June 26.
- She also noted that the enemy will continue to try to break through the defenses of our military, as well as surround them near both Severodonetsk and Lysychansk.
By the way, over the past day the enemy has lost at least 130 of his fighters. And since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, our defenders and defenders have managed to eliminate 34,230 Russian invaders.
