< p _ngcontent-sc149="" class="news-annotation">Substantial parts of the Zaporozhye region have been under Russian occupation since the full-scale Russian invasion in late February 2022. It is very difficult to survive in such conditions for the civilians remaining there.
Currently, the Russian invaders are trying to defend the lines of the defensive positions they have occupied. Dmitry Kirilchuk, a deputy of the Zaporizhia District Council, spoke about this on air on Channel 24.
The tactics of offensives in small groups failed
According to the interlocutor, there are no enemy advances in the Zaporozhye direction. Therefore, they resort to the only method of “warfare” available to them – they hit the settlements close to the front line. More than 10 houses in Gulyaipole were destroyed. Some of them are simply complete, says Dmitry Kirilchuk.
At the same time, he noted that Russians do not make more of their passes in small groups. Indeed, during previous attempts, they were destroyed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Civilians “reconnoiter” minefields
Besides , the deputy of the district council announced a new crime of the Russian invaders. They began to direct civilians through the “grey zone” to Ukrainian positions for reconnaissance purposes.
With the legend supposedly “go get your dead”. Thus, they are reconnoitering which ways civilians will be able to get, because this territory, in particular this “road of life”, is now mined, – said Dmitry Kirilchuk.
According to him, before the start of their offensive in small groups in Zaporozhye the Russians themselves mined these roads. Thus, they actually made it impossible to travel along this route.
