In the Lugansk region, active hostilities continue. In the past 24 hours alone, the enemy shelled the villages and towns of the region 22 times.
On May 9, the Russians massively shelled all possible exit routes from the territory of the region, said the head of the Lugansk regional military administration, Sergei Gaidai.
What happened in the region
It was dangerous in Belogorovka and Shipilovo. Now there are battles for Voevodovka, Toshkovka and Nizhne. In Severodonetsk and Lisichansk, infidels destroyed housing.

The shell flew to the police station
So, in Severodonetsk, an enemy shell hit the building of a local police cell. A significant fire has occurred, due to which the room and equipment are now destroyed.- In Shipilovo, the police tried to inspect the building, where people remain blocked. Note that the day before they fired at the house, in the basement of which people were hiding. They were trapped. However, the Russians opened fire again. As a result, one police officer was injured.
- The infidels also injured a resident of Severodonetsk. He was taken to a hospital in Poltava with a shrapnel wound to his limbs.
Gaidai noted that the enemy was continuing to prepare for an offensive in the direction of Severodonetsk.

Luhansk region restrains invasion
< p> Ukrainian soldiers in the Luhansk region manage to restrain the invasion of the invaders and not let them into the rest of the territory of Ukraine. In intense battles, it is also possible to dismiss certain settlements. Gaidai noted that the Luhansk region is now the same outpost as Mariupol.
Recall that on May 7, infidels launched an airstrike on a school in Belogorovka, where about 90 people were hiding. At least 60 of them were killed, in particular, two volunteers.
On May 8, the Ukrainian defenders somewhat retreated from Popasna due to intense shelling by the Russians. Subsequently, Gaidai said that Popasnaya and Rubizhnoye had good news – our soldiers courageously held the defense in new positions, and the Russians' pontoon crossing in Belogorovka was destroyed.
