At the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, the occupation leadership ordered the use of Russian-made oil for a backup diesel power plant, but did not take into account that this oil foams heavily when heated.
Energoatom notes that because of this, the pressure in the system decreases and diesel generators are automatically turned off.
This applies primarily to power units No. 2, 4 and 6 of Zaporizhia NPP.

Energoatom President Petr Kotin believes that the actions of the incompetent “management” of the Zaporizhia NPP lead to the degradation of equipment and systems important for the safety of the plant.
“In the end, this may provoke a failure of the most important equipment of safety systems – diesel generators, with subsequent transition to a nuclear and radiation accident,” noted Petr Kotin.
All actions of the occupiers, together with attempts to transfer the power units of the Zaporozhye NPP from a safe cold shutdown to a hot one, are a gross violation of the requirements of the nuclear legislation of Ukraine and increase the likelihood of a radiation accident.
The day before, the actions of the Russian military and Rosatom workers caused a partial blackout at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
