What is known about the B-52
This is an eight-engine Boeing B-52 Stratofortress, a long-range strategic bomber. It has been in service with the United States since 1955 and will remain at least until 2040, until it is replaced by a new generation fighter.
The peculiarity of this aircraft is that it is capable of carrying several tens of tons of various types of conventional cargo, bombs and missiles. It is also designed to transport nuclear weapons.
Interesting fact. The main task for which the B-52 was developed was to deliver two high-yield thermonuclear bombs to anywhere in the USSR. Moreover, despite its venerable age, this aircraft is still the longest-range combat aircraft.
Note that after Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine, the United States increased its air force presence in Europe. Particular attention is paid to strengthening the South-Eastern borders of Europe. The day before, the United States overturned 12 F-22 Raptor fighters into Poland.
