Nuclear Ambitions Buried: Israel Strikes Two Secret Bases in Iran Anastasia Kolesnikova

On the night of October 26, Israel responded to Iran's massive attack on October 1 by striking military targets. According to satellite images, the IDF hit two secret bases in Tehran.

Israel damaged facilities at the secret Parchin military base southeast of the Iranian capital, AP reported, citing satellite images. Experts have previously linked the base to Tehran's former nuclear weapons program.

Nuclear Tests and Secret Tunnels

Another base, Khojar, was also hit. It is linked to Iran's ballistic missile program.

At the Parchin base, Iran once tested powerful explosives that could have caused nuclear weapons. Tehran has long insisted that its nuclear program is peaceful, although the IAEA and Western intelligence agencies say Tehran had an active weapons program until 2003.

At the neighboring Khodjir base, there is a system of secret underground tunnels and missile production sites.
