Now it is impossible: the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on demobilization in Ukraine

In Ukraine now there are no favorable conditions for the demobilization of the military, because experienced soldiers who have been fighting for more than two years are needed at the front.

This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko in an interview with Radio Liberty.

Why demobilization is impossible now: details

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that he talked about this topic with the commanders who are now on the line of fire. And they came to the conclusion that if you demobilize those who have been fighting for two years, then there is a threat of a collapse of the front.

Now watching

If we demobilize those people who, for example, served for two years, then our front will sag and the units will be inferior. We now must restore the combat effectiveness of the units and we must have, at a minimum, an equivalent replacement during the rotation of active brigades and battalions. Perhaps this is a question worth asking the military. But I think the military has the same opinion. We do not have the right to collapse the front,” Klimenko emphasized.

He also added that he understands military personnel who have been fighting for a long time and want to demobilize, but there is a situation at the front and in the state that needs to be maintained. And for this, according to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, military personnel with experience are needed.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs believes that talk about “greater demobilization” can only be after new experienced military personnel appear. According to him, those people who are currently training at training grounds will only gain the necessary experience in a few months.

– To hold the front, we need experienced military personnel. The people who are now training at the training ground will become experienced soldiers in a few months. If there are two trains, then we can talk about some kind of greater demobilization,” explained the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Let us recall that the Verkhovna Rada is preparing a bill on demobilization. On June 18, the Committee on Homeland Security, Defense and Intelligence held a meeting to prepare the demobilization bill.
