Mobilization to the Russian Army is possible in the occupied Kherson region. The occupiers declared it partially, but everyone understands that it will be massive in the occupied territories.
Kherson activist Volodymyr Molchanov told about this for Channel 24. He noted that in those places that Russia has recently captured, people will be given Russian citizenship without their request.
“Residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions are already considered citizens of a pseudo-republic even without passports, therefore they are subject to forced mobilization. As for the Kherson and Cossacks, everything is much more complicated here. The occupiers do not yet have a mechanism for the forced Russification of everyone in the occupied territories,” Molchanov said.
The Russians don't explain anything
According to the activist, “test military registration and enlistment offices” were created in the Zaporozhye region . They issued summonses only to those who seized Russian passports. The rest have not yet been threatened.
It is not yet known what will happen next and whether the occupiers will dare to declare all Russian citizens and try to mobilize them. The invaders, of course, do not give any explanations.
To be honest, I would like the Russians to announce a general mobilization and this would allow Russia to disintegrate already in this year. All attempts to mobilize the economy and feed the crowd have led to this. Unfortunately, the Russian leadership has not completely lost its mind. I hope that they will not mobilize hostile Kherson residents and leave them alone,” Molchanov added.
How preparations for “referendums” take place
Molchanov said that if we take real preparations for pseudo-referenda, that is, the opening of polling stations, then nothing happens. There is no activity in those areas where warehouses and addresses are known. That's 13 properties across the region.
“All preparations are taking place in the information space. Most likely, there will be no referendum itself, although they stretched it out for 5 days. That is, there will only be some kind of imitation. This is the discovery of unknown mysterious pseudo-sites, which will bring actors who will play the role committee and voters. “, – said the activist.
He believes that the occupiers can drive people to the polling stations if it is a big city like Kherson, where you can find collaborators who want to earn money.
What does propaganda want
The Russians declare support among Kherson residents. It is 80%. Molchanov noted that it is strange hear about 80%, if only 11% of Kherson sent their children to Russian schools.
“No one knows what questions will be raised at the “referendum” – for joining Russia as a subject of the federation or write something else. Propaganda is not aimed at convincing anyone to support Russia, but simply stating the fact that Russia does not care, because it is here forever,” Molchanov believes.
