According to preliminary data, Ukraine will receive 321 tanks, but this will be extended over time. This technique will enhance the capabilities of the APU. And it can be used in different ways.
This Channel 24 was told by military analyst Alexei Getman. According to him, Ukraine does not need 300 tanks, but several more. After all, there must be a certain reserve in case some are damaged as a result of the fighting.
However, this number is also quite large. And do not forget that Ukraine also has its own and captured tanks.
How Western tanks can be used
As you know, in the first ” wave” Ukraine will receive from 120 to 140 “Leopards”, “Challengers”, etc. From this, at least 1 brigade of fully western tanks can be formed. However, it is not known whether they will be distributed in this way.
120 tanks – this, one might say, will be at least 1 brigade. Although it seems to me that the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not form units fully equipped with the latest technology. It will be a mixture. You can use those Soviet tanks that we have. Make one company like this, and the other – with the Soviet one, – Hetman believes.
On the other hand, when all the tanks arrive in Ukraine, you can make up to 5 brigades, which will be completely based on Western models of this equipment. This can make a powerful shock fist to break through the front.
Naturally, as Hetman suggests, the first batch of tanks can also be used for defense. Although in this case it is better to use different artillery, which now also needs more at the front.
It seems to me that the skill of our military leadership is enough to correctly form new units. And to do something powerful that Russia will not be able to stop,” Hetman stressed.
Ukraine will receive up to 140 tanks in the first “wave”
- Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba emphasized that the creation of a tank coalition in the West is a huge victory for Ukraine. It already has 12 members.
- It is too early to talk about states and their contributions, as some of them have to make certain formal decisions in accordance with internal procedures. However, it is already known that in the first “wave” the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive from 120 to 140 units of modern Western tanks.
- Kuleba recalled that Ukraine also needs fighters and long-range missiles. This will help to protect and deter aggression.
