According to the military-political observer of the Information Resistance group Alexander Kovalenko, North Korea, apparently, received some financial guarantees from Russia . He spoke about this on Channel 24.
He noted that it could also be economic support or some other. All of this could have been the reason for the North Korean leader's statement.

After all, Russian propaganda tells quite a lot about the fact that they are “friends” and “brothers” with China, they are doing well, they will be able to defeat the United States economically. And not only economically. However, this is not happening.
“China is increasingly distracted from Russia, so Russia needs new friends. These friends, as we understand, are not civilized countries, but war criminals and terrorists – Iran, Syria and others. Again, North Korea can just fit this role,” Alexander Kovalenko said.
In addition, he once again stressed that the DPRK can fulfill this role only for some kind of benefit – financial or economic.
