The 37-year-old world champion retired at the end of the 2022 season, having won all his titles with the team between 2010 and 2013.
After Formula 1, Vettel became an active campaigner for mental health, the environment and human rights. He has been tipped as a potential successor to Helmut Marko as head of Red Bull's young driver development programme.
Marko is 82 years old, while Vettel is 37. Since Sebastian retired, he has appeared in the paddock from time to time. Amid talk of the German returning to Formula 1, he admitted that he had spoken to Marko.
– There were a few headlines, I still get along very well with Helmut, and we also exchange opinions on this topic. They are not that deep yet, rather we discuss what role I could play in the team. Let's see in what form this cooperation will be possible.
“Marco cannot be replaced, let's leave it at that. He has done a lot for the team since 2005 and maybe it is not the goal for someone to replace him. He has said several times that he is going to leave, but he is still here and I would like him to stay for a long time, but at some point he will leave and he knows it,” Vettel said.
Let us recall that in the current season, Oscar Piastri leads the personal Formula 1 standings with 198 points. Lando Norris is second with 176 points, and Max Verstappen is third (155).
McLaren leads the Constructors' Championship with 374 points, ahead of Mercedes (199) and Ferrari (183).
