The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is doing everything possible to ensure that from October 1, no mandatory registration of women, professions which are not included in the list of military specialties.
Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar noted on the air of the telethon that it is not true that women whose professions are on the list of military specialties should be registered as of October 1.
The fact is that this norm was delayed for a year, you remember that certain norms of the law came into force last fall. Today the situation is as follows: until October 1, this is a delay, it does not work at all, and by October 1 there is already an operating time, and we are doing everything possible to ensure that from October 1 there is no mandatory registration, – said Anna Malyar.
However, the deputy reminded that there are a number of specialties that were mandatory for registration. The General Staff needs such specialties, this is a small list. Previously, these are three specialties:
- medical,
- cooking,
- Radio electronics.
We have submitted our proposals, I emphasize proposals, not bills, for changes and voluntary registration for women. Just add “optional”. We differentiate those who are motivated to serve – they will do it. Those who have to take the child abroad will have the opportunity to do this, – Maliar emphasized.
Reference. The General Staff has developed proposed changes to the list of specialties and/or professions related to the corresponding military specialties, after receiving which women are registered for military service.
