Yun called for a vigilant joint defense capable of quickly and decisively responding to any provocations from North Korea, including surprise attacks reminiscent of Hamas' tactics due to its miscalculations.
“The President said that the Ukrainian-Russian war and the conflict between Israel and Hamas are related to North Korea, both directly and indirectly,” the report said.
Austin said US President Joe Biden is committed to further strengthening the strong alliance between South Korea and the US more than ever.
On Monday, November 13, the allies are expected to discuss a range of security issues, including ways to strengthen Washington's expanded commitment to deter missile and nuclear threats from North Korea.
Earlier it became known that the South Korean military is considering scenarios for a North Korean invasion, one of which is an invasion of the territory of the Republic of Korea, as Hamas did with Israel.
