North Carolina recognizes the Holodomor as genocide of Ukrainians

The US state of North Carolina recognized the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova on her Facebook page.

— At the end of the month of remembrance of the victims of the Holodomor-genocide in Ukraine, we have news from North Carolina. On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the tragedy, State Governor Roy Cooper signed a corresponding proclamation and proclaimed November 25 as Holodomor Remembrance Day, Markarova said.

She thanked the state of North Carolina and personally Roy Cooper for the fact that, since 2018, he has annually confirmed his consistent position on the issue of recognizing the Holodomor as genocide.
