In the coming months, mothers and widows of the Russian occupiers, whom the Kremlin officially recognizes as dead, will find it very difficult. This is because a very “unpredictable” failure occurred in the automotive market.
According toChannel 24 sources in the Ukrainian special services, in December 2022 and January 2023 at the AvtoVAZ plant, the pace of production of cars began to fall rapidly. At the same time, the demand for new Ladas only increased, which led to a deterioration in the overall situation on the market.
And although all Russian pseudo-media vied with each other about how much the main concern of the Russian automobile industry increased its sales at the beginning of the year, the failure turned out to be quite global, and those who want to exchange their son for a new car will feel its consequences for at least several months. Or even much longer.
Only units can make new cars
- At the end of last year and the beginning of this year, due to the increase in the number of deaths in Ukraine, the Russian authorities increased the payments of the so-called “coffin” payments almost exponentially.
- Therefore, thousands of happy mothers and wives moved to car dealerships and began to buy more cars than AvtoVAZ is able to produce.
- Moreover, as it turned out, after several months of plant downtime after the start of a full-scale war, the assembly shops in Tolyatti could not reach the required level of production of cars due to lack of accessories. At the same time, the pace of production was constantly decreasing.
- Due to the fact that the Russian auto industry found itself in a situation where it became very difficult to get new key parts of foreign-made cars, AvtoVAZ even had to abandon a number of its models.
- At the same time, the most popular cars like Lada Vesta and Granta left the assembly line only thanks to the considerable stocks of spare parts in warehouses. Of course, Russian engineers managed to support the production of some cars by smuggling parts from abroad, but the manufacturer was unable to fully circumvent the sanctions.
That is why, in January 2023, some car models completely disappeared from AvtoVAZ dealerships. For example, none of the mothers of the dead occupiers is able to buy Lada Vesta in the salon. However, not everyone will be able to change their son not to Vesta, but to Grant or another model, because in the near future, deliveries of cars to dealers may almost completely stop for an indefinite period. There is simply nothing to assemble them from, even in more or less commercial quantities, and as of the beginning of February, the ability to produce Ladas in Tolyatti is measured in almost units, not even tens.
Based on the situation, according to the Ukrainian special services, the Russian government ordered the management of the concern to urgently solve the problem with the supply of new cars to the market and set a deadline until the end of March. However, the probability of success on this front is equal to the ability of the cruiser “Moskva” to self-repair. After all, the “brilliant” Russian engineers once again demonstrated their incredible skills in crisis management.
Realizing that the supply of foreign components in the coming years can not be expected in any way, the leaders of AvtoVAZ announced the downgrade of Lada back in April 2022. Like, you can switch to the use of old developments of the Soviet automobile industry and the manufacture of cars without ABS, ESP systems and without airbags. It would seem, what problems can there be with the production of “nude” models with zero equipment?
As it turned out, for this it is necessary not only to launch the production of the necessary nodal systems for cars, but also to change their configuration. But that's not all, because in order to produce models without foreign AvtoVAZ components, assembly lines need to be rebuilt. It is clear that no one made any preparations for such changes.
Therefore, the Russian specialists were faced with a “fun” task: to make a number of changes at almost every stage of manufacturing cars in less than two months. And it is absolutely impossible.
In addition, the largest producer of Russian scrap suffered another problem – a lack of paint. Even now, AvtoVAZ has refused to produce cars of any color, except for black, white and marsh. However, these stocks won't last long.
It's time to switch to the production of coffins
Since the future of the Russian car market is extremely vague, and car manufacturing is becoming a problem for the Kremlin in one way or another, it is likely that the enterprise may either be re-profiled or completely closed after some time. There is no question of the profitability of maintaining the former auto giant at all, and in the absence of cars on the market, Chinese manufacturers come out on top. Which can not only replace the “bare” Ladas, but also offer widows better and even cheaper products in the right quantity.
Therefore, after AvtoVAZ fails deadlines and cannot meet the demand of the relatives of the dead military, the company is facing insane cuts. Or reprofiling into the manufacture of a product that is much easier to produce. For example, coffins. A collaboration between AvtoVAZ and the former Ford plant, which recently began processing wood, is even possible.
By the way, Russian specialists promised to restart this enterprise with American investments throughout 2022. However, for obvious reasons, no one did. So, the same thing will most likely happen with AvtoVAZ.
