Russia abhors manpower in the war against Ukraine and, due to insane losses, is looking for reserves to continue the military campaign. The Kremlin thought of replenishing its army with men who had just graduated from school.

In Russia, they almost admitted that they were sending schoolchildren to the front

Such an amendment was recommended to be adopted in the State Duma by the Parliamentary Defense Committee, according to Russian media. The State Duma proposes to allow contract service immediately after being drafted into the army.

The amendment will allow concluding contracts with 18-year-olds immediately after graduating from high school. Currently, it is proposed to conclude a contract after three months of service.

The State Duma Committee proposed to consider the amendments on contract service immediately after being drafted into the army on June 28. The new amendments imply a reduction in the educational qualification, and hence the age of contract recruits.

According to Russian media, the amendment allowed not only recruiting contract soldiers from school graduates, but also sending them into battle only a month after the conclusion of the contract.

This version of the bill was published in early June, but it almost immediately disappeared from the State Duma website. In all likelihood, Russia is deliberately hiding information that sends children to the front.

Local media also inform that the number of conscripts sent to Russian troops immediately after graduation from school did not exceed 5%. The new bill will allow them to be recruited under a contract.

Russia is looking for reserves to continue the war with Ukraine

  • The Russian leadership has not yet declared war on Ukraine, but is hiding behind the so-called “special operation” . That is why general mobilization has not been declared in Russia, but covert measures are continuing.
  • At the end of May, pensioners will actually be allowed to fight in Russia. Russian dictator Vladimir Putin lifted age restrictions on contract soldiers.
  • As for Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine, on the morning of June 26, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine updated the indicative data. According to them, about 34,850 Russian soldiers have already died in Ukraine. In just one day, 150 Russian assassins were eliminated.
