In his speech, Xi said that it is necessary to firmly adhere to the one-China principle and “Consensus of 1992”.

Achieving the complete reunification of the motherland is the aspiration of the people, the requirement of the times and the historical necessity and cannot be stopped by any force,” Xi said.

The Chinese leader also noted the importance of observing another principle of New China – “one country, two systems”, which has been in effect since the early 1980s and allows the coexistence of the socialist system of the PRC with the capitalist systems of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

In addition To this end, Xi pledged support to the “patriots” who govern Hong Kong and Macau, and assured that Beijing will help the two autonomous regions develop their economies and maintain stability.

He also called on the nation to strengthen confidence and strive for unity in building a strong China and achieving national rejuvenation.

The publication also reported the deployment of new mobilization centers throughout the country.
