Newsweek writes that the F-16 is already in Ukraine – the Air Force responded

Recently, journalists from the American publication Newsweek, citing their own anonymous sources in the United States, reported that Ukraine has likely received the first of the promised F-16 multirole fighters from partners.

However, the Air Force denies this information.

The publication published the news against the background of the destruction of Russian aircraft by Ukrainian defenders in recent days.

In a comment to journalists of the Ukrainian publication LIGA.net, Air Force representative Yuriy Ignat denied information that F-16 fighters are already in Ukraine.

In addition to Newsweek, Russian propaganda resources have already announced the alleged arrival of the F-16 in Ukraine and even managed to report on the “destruction” aircraft.

Previously, Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ignat stated that Ukraine will not receive American F-16 combat aircraft in 2023, since partner countries will transfer them after modification in accordance with the latest standards.

According to him, modification can be carried out at enterprises in the USA and Europe.
