This time it will be led by Great Britain, not the United States. The future of the Ramstein format will depend heavily on the US administration, Channel 24 reports, citing Radio Liberty. Back in January, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that the meeting would take place in Brussels before the Munich Security Conference, scheduled for February 14-16. He noted that the future of the Rammstein format remains uncertain, since much depends on the US administration. This time, the UK will take over the chairmanship of the meeting. Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov previously stated that the next meeting of the group could take place in February. Some functions of the Contact Group have already been transferred to NATO. The NSATU (NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine) mission has begun work in Wiesbaden, Germany, coordinating arms supplies to Ukraine in accordance with the promises of partner countries and Ukraine's needs. However, the Alliance has not yet taken on a political role in convening the meetings. Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur assured Radio Liberty that regardless of the fate of Rammstein, the allies will continue to support Ukraine through specialized coalitions – fighters, armored vehicles, air defense, drones, and the like. The Rammstein format was founded in April 2022, when then-Pentagon Secretary Lloyd Austin convened representatives of allied countries at the US Air Force base in the city of the same name in Germany.
